GRIEF

People weep for various reasons. People often weep when they get married. Others may weep when their children leave home. We may well weep when we are in physical pain. The most common reason for tears is when we lose a loved one. In fact, even in that situation, people frequently apologize for crying. There is no need for that. There must be a purpose for our tears.

Science may have the answer, recent studies indicate that our tears contain natural pain killers. While tears have a physical purpose, lubricating the eyes, or washing out foreign objects, there is also an emotional component. Emotional tears have high concentrations of certain fluids that help us to deal with stress. So crying is nothing to cry about. Remember-Jesus wept.
