Church
There are several claimants to the record for the smallest church building in the world. One, in particular, was recognized by The Guinness Book of World Records. It is called the Chapel of the Sorrowful Mother and is currently located on the campus of Thomas More University in Northern Kentucky.
The chapel was originally located on monastery grounds about five miles from the university. It measures six by nine feet in the interior and includes small stained-glass windows and a small Pietà. It was originally built to give winery workers a place to pray. In 1965, it was moved to the university campus, where it is now clearly visible from the highway.
We all know that a building is not a church. However, the place where a church meets is important. It needs to be able to accommodate those who need the message of Jesus Christ. Churches come in all sizes, and they should always be willing to seek and save one more, and then one more after that—again and again.
